Cycling icon Adrie van der Poel is riding Chasin’ the Sunset
Are you going to ride from Kapellen to Saint Leonard de Noblat, just like Adrie van der Poel? The winner of multiple Dutch Championships in road cycling & cyclo-cross, winner of several cycling classics and World Champion cyclo-cross will be at the start of Chasin’ the Sunset in June.
We announced earlier that Adrie van der Poel is an ambassador of Chasin’ the Sunset, but he will also get on his bicycle for this unique experience. In three days, he’ll ride from his home in Kapellen (Belgium) to the home of his father in law Raymond Poulidor – an experience that even he can’t refuse. The organisation of Chasin’ the Sunset is very proud that this Van der Poel Edition will have a real Van der Poel at the start.
He will ride this three day event on behalf of the GP Adrie van der Poel foundation. The foundation organizes an annual world cup cyclo-cross in Hoogerheide (The Netherlands), as well as a number of side events. One of those is ‘unique sports’ for people with a disability, which due to the Covid-19 pandemic can not take place this year. That’s why Adrie van der Poel and chairman Jan Prop are participating in Chasin’ the Sunset. By riding their bikes they hope to raise a lot of money for the Titurel foundation, which offers long lasting care and daytime activities to people that have autism, physical problems and/or are mentally disabled.
A very good reason to participate, and an extra reason to look forward to Chasin’ the Sunset!
